FirePower Capital has hired Anthony Lipschitz as a partner, private equity. Lipschitz joins the firm from Thinking Capital, where he served as chief strategy officer. He has also worked as a technology executive, including at iStopOver, a short-term vacation rental platform he co-founded and led, and served as a vice president at Brightspark Ventures. FirePower also announced its hire of Alan Chettiar as head of investment banking and the opening of a Montréal office. Earlier this year, PE Hub Canada profiled the debut deals of FirePower’s private capital division, which launched last year.

FirePower Capital makes two senior hires and opens Montreal office
TORONTO, Nov. 8, 2017 /CNW/ – FirePower Capital (“FirePower”), Canada’s entrepreneurial investment bank and investor for the mid-market, is pleased to announce Alan Chettiar and Anthony Lipschitz have joined the firm, as Head of Investment Banking and Partner, Private Equity, respectively. They both bring exceptional experience, creativity, and hustle to our team, leveraging their previous leadership positions at BEST Funds, StubHub, Thinking Capital, and others.
FirePower is also pleased to announce that it has opened an office in the heart of Montreal, to more closely advise and more readily invest in the many great companies in Quebec.

Alan Chettiar was most recently a Senior Portfolio-Manager at BEST Funds, a boutique investment management firm, growing through a series of roles for over a decade and acting as a board member to portfolio companies in a variety of sectors. Alan holds an MBA from the Ted Rogers School of Management, an LLB from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Mary’s University.
Anthony Lipschitz was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer at Thinking Capital, a PE-backed fintech lender. Previously, he was Canada Country Manager at StubHub, eBay’s ticketing marketplace. He also co-founded and sold iStopOver, a VC-backed short-term vacation rental platform, and prior to that, he was a VP at Brightspark Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm. He holds a BA in Media Arts from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York.
